Community Woodland Management

There are a growing number of community groups in the North Highlands who see a close link with their woodlands as an essential part of who they are.  Some have evolved into full blown Community Woodland Groups, either through buying their woods, or through entering into some form of management agreement with existing owners.  Other groups have economic or other factors as their many reason for linking with their local woods, with many more at the early stages of exploring the possibilities of what community woods could mean for them. NHFT provides support for these groups through the provision of information and expert advice, as well as practical assistance with the production of management plans, feasibility studies, funding applications.  We also provide comprehensive training support to help build the capacity of local groups and develop local skills and expertise and improve local employment opportunities.
